About Core Learning, Inc. Founded in 2010 by Stephanie Appel, the mission of Core Learning, Inc. is to provide education and consulting services to enhance career and life.
As a Social Worker for over ten years, Stephanie Appel has held positions in organizations such as Common Ground, the Anti-Defamation League, Boys & Girls Republic, the Michigan Humane Society and Jewish Family Service of Metropolitan Detroit. Diverse experience includes crisis intervention counseling, legal clinic coordination, student internship supervision, facilitation of anti-bias trainings, creation and implementation of all aspects of a volunteer services program, management of participant recruitment for a large-scale inaugural fundraising walk, community outreach and marketing, and development and growth of a professional continuing education program to serve Social Workers and Addiction Professionals.
After graduating from both the University of Michigan-Dearborn and Wayne State University, Stephanie has continued her professional involvement as a Licensed Master Social Worker through the State of Michigan, Department of Community Health; is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW); is both a member of, and Certified Information & Referral Specialist through, the Alliance of Information and Referral Systems (AIRS); and is a member of the Metropolitan Detroit Volunteer Administration Network (MDVAN).
Core Learning, Inc. was founded in order to continue and expand upon these efforts, bring light to serious issues, support the programs and services directly impacting change, and contribute to making a difference in the community – in the Detroit Metropolitan Region, Southeastern Michigan, and throughout the State. By offering creative, diverse, customer focused, and community based education and consulting services, Core Learning, Inc. seeks to partner with a variety of host settings in order to “be a part of the solution”.
